Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What process do you use to clean carpet?
A. The
method of carpet cleaning we use is " hot water extraction", also referred
to as "steam cleaning." Most carpet manufacturers prefer this method. This
method is much more thorough than "dry cleaning" methods, as the carpet is
cleaned from top to bottom and the dirt is extracted by the very powerful
vacuum in the van.
Q. How long
does the carpet take to dry?
A. The carpet
is typically dry in 3-5 hours. If you need to walk on it sooner than this we
can leave you booties for your feet to keep them dry. Regular traffic,
children and pets should be kept off the carpet for 3-4 hours. Furniture
tabs should be left in place for 24-36 hours to prevent furniture stains.
Q. How long
does the cleaning take?
A. The average
room will take 15-20 minutes to clean. This time can be more or less
depending on furniture moving, condition of the carpets, and extra time for
spot removal.
Q. Do you
move furniture?
A. This is up
to the homeowner's preference. We can move the furniture or go around it,
cleaning as close to possible up to the furniture. We can move sofas, end
tables or chairs as long as they have been cleared of any valuables.
Q. How often
should I clean my carpets?
A. Carpet
manufacturers recommend cleaning your carpets every 12-18 months. This
regular cleaning helps keep your carpets in the best possible condition for
years to come. If you wait to clean your carpets until you can see the
traffic patterns you run the risk of permanent damage to your carpets. This
damage can take place because the dirt is working as an abrasive on the
carpet fibers.
Q. Do you
clean grout and tile?
A. Grout and
tile cleaning is a major part of our cleaning business. Our prices are very
competitive and our cleaning is very thorough.
Q. What type
of cleaning process do you use to clean the grout and tile?
A. We use the
same van and equipment as we use for cleaning the carpets, except the tool
we use on the end of the hoses is made specifically for cleaning grout and
tile. This tool does a very thorough cleaning and extracts all the dirty
water through the hoses out to the van. It is a very clean process and does
not leave a big mess.
Q.
How long will
it take to clean my carpet?
A.
On average, it will take
approximately 20 minutes per room. This time can vary
greatly depending on the amount of furniture to be moved,
how dirty the carpet is, and any necessary spot removal
treatments.
Q.
Is your method
safe for my carpet?
A.
Our process is recommended
by all major carpet manufactures. Steam cleaning is the #1
process used today. Modern carpet technology is basically
water resistant, and the limited amount of water used in
our cleaning process is 95% removed by a high powered
vacuum. Drying time is minimal, and there is no harmful
chemicals left behind.
Q.
How long will
it take for my carpet to dry?
A.
Drying time of a carpet is
regulated by humidity, air flow to the room and the type
of carpet. Air conditioning or heat, depending on the time
of year, will help speed the process. It typically takes
between 2 and 8 hours, depending on the aforementioned
variables. If it is raining or very humid outside and your
carpet is extremely dirty, and you have very dense carpet
drying can take up to 24 hours to dry on the very worst
circumstances. Cleenx Carpet and Tile Care
has very powerful van mounted equipment which removes 95%
of the moisture we put in, so carpet is barely damp to the
touch after cleaning.
Q.
Why clean my
carpet when I have heard that cleaning makes it soil faster?
A. Cleenx
Carpet and Tile Care's high
powered truck mount equipment rinses virtually all cleaning agents out of
your carpet so it will not attract dirt. This problem refers to cleaning
companies who use soap, which may leave a dirt-attracting residue, or dry
cleaning methods, which leave oily powder particles in your carpet to
attract dirt.
Q.
Will the
cleaning agents used harm my children or pets?
A.
All chemicals that we use
are EPA approved and are carefully rinsed out of the
carpets. MSDS sheets are available on request. Our method
is recommended #1 by doctors and vets all over the world.
The carpet may be walked on with clean feet, socks or
shoes while damp. Care should be taken when stepping on to
no carpeted areas, as these floors will be slippery.

How often should
carpet and furniture be cleaned?
It is recommended that carpets and furniture be
cleaned at least once per year. The actual time will vary according to
the amount of usage the individual rooms receive. You are assured of
the maximum life span on carpet and furniture that have been
maintained professionally. With our method of cleaning, a more
frequent cleaning will extend the life of the fabric, rather than
damage fibers as some cleaning methods can do.
Is it true once a carpet
is cleaned it will re-soil much quicker?
This is true only if the cleaning process
leaves shampoo or heavy soap residues in your carpet that actually
attract soil. Our cleaning process does not leave residues, and can
remove most residues from previous cleaning from other cleaning methods.
Our Truck Mount Cleaning System removes the solution and soil from your
carpet directly into our truck. The end result is that after our
cleaning and fabric protector is applied, your carpet stays cleaner
longer.
How soon can I walk on it?
Keep pets, children and regular traffic off of
the carpet for a period of 4 to 6 hours. The homeowner may use the
carpet lightly immediately after cleaning by wearing white socks or
plastic booty's provided by us. Wait 24 hours before removing styrofoam
blocks or plastic tabs that are put in place to protect the furniture
and carpet. Drying time for carpets vary depending on the humidity
outside, the condition on the carpet, and the density of the carpet.
Which system do they use?
Cleenx Carpet and Tile Care use's the VORTEX System , the most powerful
cleaning system on the market today. We insist on the best equipment and
products. The procedures we use do not leave excess moisture in the carpet
or leave dirt attracting sticky residue behind. You can expect maximum soil
and spot removal
What is the black buildup
around the carpet edges?
This is an accumulation of carbon or soot from
air circulation, which will collect along edges, air ducts, and at the
bottom of draperies and doors. The buildup is most noticeable on light
colored carpet. We are familiar with this condition and will concentrate
our efforts to remove it. However, this carbon condition isn't always
completely removable.
Q. What type
of payment do you take?
A. Checks,
Cash, or Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover.
